The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sciences Society exists as a science based forum for individuals active in the fields of Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sciences. The society evolved from the former Parenteral Society, which was primarily focused on sterile injectable and implantable drugs and devices, to meet the needs of a wider community and broaden our horizons and membership, with the change of name effective from 1 March 2006.

The PHSS also publishes a quarterly Journal - The European Journal of Parenteral and Pharmaceutical Sciences, ISSN: 0964-4679.(see publications).


Amongst its membership, the Society has representatives in Academia, The NHS, Industry, Engineering, The Medicines Inspectorate and other related areas.

Members' interests cover Research and Development, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering, The Practice of Medicine, Nursing Care and related activities.

The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Sciences Society is a non-profit making organisation, whose Management Committee are elected individuals from within the industry
